Assignment tracker template
Updated on October 28, 2026
With several subjects, deadlines blur together and one assignment always gets forgotten. A single list, in date order, with what is left on each one, fixes that: just open the note to see what comes first.

How to use it
- At the start of the semester, create the note with "Use this template" and add every deadline that has been announced.
- Write each assignment on one line: date, subject, what it is and what is left. Keep the list in date order.
- Every Monday, move whatever is due in the next seven days to "This week".
- When you turn something in, tick it and move it to "Turned in", with the grade if you want to keep track.
Tips
- Put the date at the start of the line. That way the list reads top to bottom, like a calendar.
- For group projects, write who is in the group and what your part is right below. Send the note’s link to the group.
- Create a reminder two days before each important deadline (⋮ menu › Create reminder).
- Big projects deserve their own subnote (semester/history-project), with research, draft and outline.
Why write down what is left
"Physics, problem set 3" says what to turn in, but not how much work remains. "9 to 15 left" does. When you look at the week, that small note shows whether you can finish in one evening or need to start today. Update what is left whenever you make progress: in a few seconds, the list becomes an accurate picture of where you are, and it gets easier to say no to plans in a busy week.
