Remove duplicate lines from text
Updated on October 30, 2026
Paste a list of emails, names, products or anything with one item per line and delete the repeated ones in a click. The first occurrence of each line is kept, in the original order. Your list never leaves your browser.
Duplicate lines removed: 0
The text is processed in your browser and is not sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Paste the list in the first box, one item per line.
- Tick the options you want: ignore uppercase and lowercase, ignore spaces and keep blank lines.
- See the result in the second box and how many duplicate lines were removed.
- Copy the result or save it to a note.
What the options change
- Ignore uppercase and lowercase: "Maria" and "maria" are treated as the same. The first one that appeared stays. Switched off, both remain.
- Ignore leading, trailing and repeated spaces: "ana smith" and " ana smith " count as the same line. Handy for lists copied from spreadsheets or emails, where stray spaces hide unseen.
- Keep blank lines: empty lines are never deleted, even if repeated. Switched off, only the first blank line remains.
When this helps
- Email or contact lists merged from several sources.
- Campaign or research keywords copied from more than one tool.
- Records and logs with repeated lines.
- Shopping, guest or task lists that picked up duplicate items along the way.
- Code and configuration files with the same entry written twice.
Tip: duplicates that are not exactly the same
Two lines count as repeated only if their text is exactly the same (after applying the options you ticked). "Main St, 10" and "Main St,10" are different. To find near-duplicates like that, sort the lines first (see the sort lines tool): similar lines end up next to each other and the difference shows.
Frequently asked questions
- Which line is kept, the first or the last?
- The first. Later lines equal to it are removed and the original order of the list is preserved.
- Does it work with thousands of lines?
- Yes. Lists with tens of thousands of lines are processed instantly.
- Is my list sent to a server?
- No. Processing happens in your browser, so email or customer lists never leave your device. Even so, avoid leaving personal data in notes opened by link.
- Can I sort the list afterwards?
- Yes: copy the result and paste it into the sort lines tool.
